HUB 4

Terms & conditions

LAST UPDATED 31 JULY 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Flash 13 (“Hub 4”, “we”) when you use hub4.au or take part in a hunt. By joining, you accept them.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 18 years old and able to get around Melbourne, Australia. One account per person. Every account is verified by SMS, and accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.

2. Membership and billing

Membership is $25 AUD per month, charged in advance and renewing automatically until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never handle your card details.

You can cancel at any time from your member portal. Cancellation stops future billing and your membership continues until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't provide refunds for partial months, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires it.

If a payment fails, your membership may be paused and you may be unable to compete until it's resolved. We'll give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price.

3. How a hunt works

Each round we publish a clue to members. Solving it leads to a physical code hidden in a publicly accessible place. Scanning that code with your phone records your GPS position; if you're within the accepted radius, the scan is verified.

The first member to verify a scan receives an exclusive window (normally 15 minutes) to answer a skill question. A wrong answer starts a cooldown (normally 5 minutes) during which that member cannot answer again, while their window continues to run. If the window expires without a correct answer, the question opens to other eligible members, and the first correct answer wins.

Some hunts run as relays across several stages, where each stage must be found and answered before the next clue is released. Only the final stage carries a prize. Exact timings and formats are set per hunt and shown in the app.

Hub 4 is a game of skill. Outcomes are determined by solving clues, locating codes and answering questions correctly. There is no draw, lottery or element of chance in determining a winner.

4. Prizes

Prizes are cash in Australian dollars. The value of a prize is not disclosed until it has been won. Prizes are paid to the winner's nominated Australian bank account within 48 hours of the win being verified.

Prize funding comes from a fixed share of membership revenue, topped up at our discretion. We will never award a prize we cannot fund.

A win may be withheld or reversed if we reasonably determine that these terms were broken — for example a spoofed location, a shared account, or collusion. You are responsible for any tax that applies to a prize in your circumstances.

5. Fair play

You must not:

falsify your location by any means; use more than one account, or play through someone else's; share codes, answers or token locations with anyone outside the rules of the hunt; interfere with, move, damage, hide or destroy a token so others cannot find it; or use automated tools to play.

We may suspend or close an account, withhold prizes, and refuse future membership where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

6. Skill leagues and standings

Members compete within divisions based on demonstrated skill. Consistent winners may be promoted to a higher division with harder clues; members may be relegated after a quiet season. We may adjust divisions, zones and standings to keep competition fair, and these decisions are made at our discretion.

7. Safety and conduct — read this one

You take part at your own risk and you are responsible for your own safety. Nothing in a clue ever requires you to trespass, enter a private or restricted area, climb, dig, break anything, or ignore a law, signage or a direction from police or a property owner. Tokens are always placed in publicly accessible locations.

Obey road rules. Do not use the app while driving. Take care at night and in unfamiliar places. If a clue seems to lead somewhere unsafe or private, stop and contact us — you have misread it, or we have made a mistake.

8. Referrals

Members receive a personal referral link. When someone joins through it and pays, the referring member receives a credit equal to 10% of each membership payment that person makes, for as long as their membership continues. Credits are applied against the referring member's own future bills and have no cash value. Self-referral and fake accounts forfeit credits.

9. Running the game

We may cancel, postpone, extend or modify a hunt where necessary — for weather, safety, a missing or damaged token, or a technical fault. Where a hunt is cancelled before it is won, the prize carries into a future hunt. Our decision on the outcome of a hunt is final.

The service is provided as-is. We can't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and timing in the app depends on our servers, which are the authoritative record for all holds, cooldowns and claims.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, our liability to you is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

11. Content and conduct

Clues, questions, artwork and the site itself remain our property. You may not reproduce hunt content publicly while a hunt is live. Be civil to other members and to our team.

12. Changes, ending, and law

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to members and the date above updated. You can stop being a member at any time. We may end a membership for a serious or repeated breach.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction.
